  23. More than likely it is being caused by poor house wiring.... either
  24. electrical wiring, phone wiring, or both.  It could also be a defective
  25. motor in the vacuum cleaner
  26.  
  27. Start by hiring a professional licensed electrician to check the
  28. AC wiring for missing or open  ground connections at the outlets.
  29. Also check the distribution/breaker panel for loose connections (the
  30. electrician's job, NOT YOURS)

  32. The electrician may also be able to check/inspect the vacuum sweeper.
  33.  
  34. Try borrowing a neighbor's vacuum to see if the problem persists.

  36. If your phone wiring runs parallel to power wiring in walls, ie in the
  37. same channel through walls & ceilings, the potential for interference is
  38. great.

  40. Consider hiring a telephone professional to replace your old
  41. red/green/yellow/black "JK" style inside wiring with TWISTED PAIR
  42. wiring.  The new twisted pair wire can occupy the same raceways as
  43. AC power wiring without degradation.
